Knitted Graffiti

yup, that's right! I sauntered over to Revia's blog and being the curious creature that i am, had to take a look when she commented on Knitted Graffiti, hmmm verrrrry interesting!!

I also noticed on Rev's blog that i wasn't the only one irritated with the outcome on Project Runway last week, however, i knew they would end up getting rid of Daniel Franco and keep Santino...they need the drama of his HUGE ASS ego to keep propelling the show along!!

Ok, so anyway...hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday Time: Merry Yule, Happy Festivus, Bountiful Kwanzaa, etc. etc. to all!!

Deb and i celebrated a small and simple Yule to honor our spiritual beliefs...and i'm so glad that we did so because Christmas Eve i was in a huge funk missing the big "to-do" at my Dad & Lynn's house on Christmas Eve, i guess i was having a void because nothing goes on here with Deb's family, that night. We had planned a movie night and girls snack food night with Deb's Mom and then her Mom fell asleep and we were left to our own devices without knowing what all she had planned for us to eat. Nine pm rolled around and we'd still not had any dinner...i ended up eating about 10 really salty "sun dried tomato and something"-Wheat Thins and one nasty feta stuffed olive, YUK!! I was pretty grouchy so i cried some and knitted and went to sleep.

Deb and i woke up at 7am Christmas morning and prepared breakfast for the household. Deb cleaned up in the kitchen while i put the coffee to brew and then i cooked up sausage for inside and egg casserole and got that into the oven and then Deb prepped her yummy breakfast potatoes and got those going and we snuck into the living room and each grabbed one gift to open from each other. Deb opened one of the sweaters i got for her and i opened a box that contained this & this!! Yippee!!! I was very surprised!!

Just after that Deb's nephew Chris woke up and then her Mom & Dad and we all opened gifts taking turns and watching what everyone else received. Since i was able to shop for clothing for Deb at Walmart, (thank goodness she's not name brand picky!!), i bought her two sweaters, two button down shirts, and a henley....she was very excited and even more so when she found out that her Mom bought her four pocket T's, two sets of flannel jammies, two turtle necks, one button down and a partridge in a pear tree!! So she has a whole new wardrobe that she sorely needed!! She also got a lovingly knitted hat to keep her warm...because her wife loves her very much;) I received a very nice blouse from Deb's folks and a gift card to do some more shopping at Catherine's. Deb being the very wise knitters wife; gifted me with this, this (and as i'm linking them, noting that she'd have saved some money getting them from Amazon instead of Michael's but i'm sure time was of the essence!!) & this !!(which was on sale for a very nice price!!)

We ended up pooping out and stayed home from dinner at Deb's cousin's house...mostly because i was irritated that we didn't know until three hours prior to the time we were to be there, when we were to be there!! I hate not having events planned and knowing when i need to be somewhere, it drives me batty and pisses me right off. I mean, for goodness sake there's one shower here and 5 adults who need to use it, plus there was the over night additon of Deb's nephew who is 18 but special needs and he needed to take a bath too. I really didn't want to be all rushed to get ready to go but truth be told if Deb had really wanted to go and pressed me a bit, i would have done it but apparently she wasn't all keen on going either so after her folks got ready and left i think it took us - ohhhh, about half an hour of so before both of us fell asleep in front of the TV snoring wildly- aren't we the fun holiday types? Deb parents returned home around 8pm with no left over food but suggested that they'd seen a Chinese Restaurant opened and offered to go pick up some food for us, however upon closer inspection when they pulled up to the door they noticed all the tables set in a circle together and that all of the people inside eating happened to be of Asian decent PLUS the "open" sign was not on so they determined that the owners, family and staff were having their own holiday meal so we ended up with our meal coming from "Sheetz" which is a local gas station/convenience store and Deb had some kind of southwest sub and i had two chicken fajita wraps which were actually very good! Yup, that was our Chistmas dinner....LOL!!

Yesterday, Deb's Grandad and his girlfriend came up from Baltimore for a visit and one of Deb's sets of Aunt & Uncle came over as well as one of her brother's and his wife later on. Deb's Mom had already planned a turkey dinner for here that day so we had a nice dinner yesterday!! We were also recipients of some generous and unexpected cash gifts from her Grandad, his girlfriend and then from Deb's Uncle George who also lives here in the house...that last gift left us speechless, completely...

All in all Christmas here, away from my home has been ok. I mean it's hard to compare when you're so used to things being a certain way and it's sort of unfair to compare too, but i couldn't help it! And really, i have to quit saying things like "away from home" or "home in Indiana", etc. because the truth of the matter is that Deb IS my HOME, so home is wherever she is it's not some place...and this year we happen to be in the midst of a transitional time in our life together, next year we will be in a place of our own, a place we can call 'home', but only because the two of us will be there together!!

Happy Holiday's!!

Liked the knitted graffitti, huh? LOL I about laughed my ass off. I've decided that my tagger name is gonna be L. Paca. :-)

You two take care of yourselves. As a veteran mover (over 20 moves under my belt in 30 years), it takes a bit to adjust. Even if you've been there before. Things change, relationships change. Just take it as it comes and things will turn out ok. Take care of each other!
