Yes, We're Alive!

Ok, ok...i'm here!

We made it to Maryland on Nov. 12th and spent two days cleaning out the room we were to live in at Deb's Mom's house. On Monday the 14th we turned right around with deb's family and drove from Maryland to Missouri for her niece's graduation from Military Police Training at Fort Leonard Wood. That was a trip!! Deb's dad drives like a mad-man on speed, however it was Deb's brother- in his own vehicle - who got the speeding ticket on our way home. Heehee!!

Deb starts work at the Random House Warehouse in town on Dec. 1st and i'm still looking for work, i need to get some resumes done and sent out.

In knitting news, i've had to frog a sock for me three times...once was too small, once was too big and i'm hoping this one is juuuust right!!

I've also got a sock two-thirds done for Deb...but i put that one down, size 2 dpn's Rowan Spun 4-ply, need i say more??

We've been to Visit our new Unitarian Universalist Church twice now and like it a lot so far.

No internet at "home" so far so i'm at the neighbor's house, but will be checking in more often now.

Hugs to everyone!

Weekend Update

...ok, so clearly i'm writing about last weekend! And, well, maybe this is more of an update on the past week or so, eh??

So we're all packed up, everything is sitting in storage in my brother Steve's garage until this coming Thursday. We're camped out at my Mom's with clothing, bedding and toiletries...and a bit of yarn, shhh!

This past weekend was a whirlwind with the Holiday Bazaar at Church on Saturday. Even though i was not selling candles there, we decided to go and help out. Deb did a fabulous job of badgering people into buying raffle tickets again and i helped wherever i was needed and then managed to mess up a sock i had been working on for months...such is life, it ended up that it was going to be too big for me anyway!

Saturday evening we had my Dad's birthday party dinner, the big 59...you know what's coming next year then, right?!! Lynn made a nice lasagna dinner and all of my Dad's kids & grandkids and all of Lynn's were there (well, as many grandkids as possible, but that's a whole different story!!)...we had a nice visit with everyone and were able to say goodbyes to my step-siblings and their families and my nieces & nephews. I had finished Conner's sweater on Fri night/Sat morning and so i was able to give that to him finally. Of course i did not take any pictures of it, but it's this one in Homespun-Edwardian only, so NO stripes! i walked in and saw Conner and i said, "oh, Conner...i have something for you." and he said, "Oooh, is it that sweater thing?" LOL! Too funny. He put it on, it fit and he wore it until the kids started playing hard and he was getting all sweaty...so, i guess he likes it?!!

Sunday we left for Church and were on our way until Deb went through a deep puddle and apparently got our car too wet and it died. Needless to say we never made it for the service and were late to our own "going-away" coffee hour afterward. Our friend Patrick came and rescued us, took us to church and we were able to say some goodbyes and get some hugs from people we wouldn't see later in the day. It was very nice and we're going to miss so many of the people in our congregation so very much!! I managed to not cry so much during the day, so that was a good thing.

I lost half of this post so the rest of the story is going to have to wait...sorry....more later....
