Knitted Graffiti
I also noticed on Rev's blog that i wasn't the only one irritated with the outcome on Project Runway last week, however, i knew they would end up getting rid of Daniel Franco and keep Santino...they need the drama of his HUGE ASS ego to keep propelling the show along!!
Ok, so anyway...hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday Time: Merry Yule, Happy Festivus, Bountiful Kwanzaa, etc. etc. to all!!
Deb and i celebrated a small and simple Yule to honor our spiritual beliefs...and i'm so glad that we did so because Christmas Eve i was in a huge funk missing the big "to-do" at my Dad & Lynn's house on Christmas Eve, i guess i was having a void because nothing goes on here with Deb's family, that night. We had planned a movie night and girls snack food night with Deb's Mom and then her Mom fell asleep and we were left to our own devices without knowing what all she had planned for us to eat. Nine pm rolled around and we'd still not had any dinner...i ended up eating about 10 really salty "sun dried tomato and something"-Wheat Thins and one nasty feta stuffed olive, YUK!! I was pretty grouchy so i cried some and knitted and went to sleep.
Deb and i woke up at 7am Christmas morning and prepared breakfast for the household. Deb cleaned up in the kitchen while i put the coffee to brew and then i cooked up sausage for inside and egg casserole and got that into the oven and then Deb prepped her yummy breakfast potatoes and got those going and we snuck into the living room and each grabbed one gift to open from each other. Deb opened one of the sweaters i got for her and i opened a box that contained this & this!! Yippee!!! I was very surprised!!
Just after that Deb's nephew Chris woke up and then her Mom & Dad and we all opened gifts taking turns and watching what everyone else received. Since i was able to shop for clothing for Deb at Walmart, (thank goodness she's not name brand picky!!), i bought her two sweaters, two button down shirts, and a henley....she was very excited and even more so when she found out that her Mom bought her four pocket T's, two sets of flannel jammies, two turtle necks, one button down and a partridge in a pear tree!! So she has a whole new wardrobe that she sorely needed!! She also got a lovingly knitted hat to keep her warm...because her wife loves her very much;) I received a very nice blouse from Deb's folks and a gift card to do some more shopping at Catherine's. Deb being the very wise knitters wife; gifted me with this, this (and as i'm linking them, noting that she'd have saved some money getting them from Amazon instead of Michael's but i'm sure time was of the essence!!) & this !!(which was on sale for a very nice price!!)
We ended up pooping out and stayed home from dinner at Deb's cousin's house...mostly because i was irritated that we didn't know until three hours prior to the time we were to be there, when we were to be there!! I hate not having events planned and knowing when i need to be somewhere, it drives me batty and pisses me right off. I mean, for goodness sake there's one shower here and 5 adults who need to use it, plus there was the over night additon of Deb's nephew who is 18 but special needs and he needed to take a bath too. I really didn't want to be all rushed to get ready to go but truth be told if Deb had really wanted to go and pressed me a bit, i would have done it but apparently she wasn't all keen on going either so after her folks got ready and left i think it took us - ohhhh, about half an hour of so before both of us fell asleep in front of the TV snoring wildly- aren't we the fun holiday types? Deb parents returned home around 8pm with no left over food but suggested that they'd seen a Chinese Restaurant opened and offered to go pick up some food for us, however upon closer inspection when they pulled up to the door they noticed all the tables set in a circle together and that all of the people inside eating happened to be of Asian decent PLUS the "open" sign was not on so they determined that the owners, family and staff were having their own holiday meal so we ended up with our meal coming from "Sheetz" which is a local gas station/convenience store and Deb had some kind of southwest sub and i had two chicken fajita wraps which were actually very good! Yup, that was our Chistmas dinner....LOL!!
Yesterday, Deb's Grandad and his girlfriend came up from Baltimore for a visit and one of Deb's sets of Aunt & Uncle came over as well as one of her brother's and his wife later on. Deb's Mom had already planned a turkey dinner for here that day so we had a nice dinner yesterday!! We were also recipients of some generous and unexpected cash gifts from her Grandad, his girlfriend and then from Deb's Uncle George who also lives here in the house...that last gift left us speechless, completely...
All in all Christmas here, away from my home has been ok. I mean it's hard to compare when you're so used to things being a certain way and it's sort of unfair to compare too, but i couldn't help it! And really, i have to quit saying things like "away from home" or "home in Indiana", etc. because the truth of the matter is that Deb IS my HOME, so home is wherever she is it's not some place...and this year we happen to be in the midst of a transitional time in our life together, next year we will be in a place of our own, a place we can call 'home', but only because the two of us will be there together!!
Happy Holiday's!!

Winter Solstice
...meaning: "standing still sun"
Today, daylight is the shortest and the sun has its the lowest arc in the sky. Solstice arrives at precisely 1:35pmEST. I'm waking Deb about 20 minutes prior so she can go and get me a few little branches from outside. We're going to do a very small circle, reading and meditation in our room and i've got a lovely little red tea light that we'll let burn. We don't have much space so that will have to do for this year. I'm looking forward to the days growing longer now and the return of the sun!! With the move, i've been jazzed up anyway...but the one nice thing is it gets darker about an hour later on the East Coast, but in return...you guessed it, it gets lighter an hour later too, UGH!! I find it odd for it to still be somewhat dark outside at 7am...and because of this, find myself sleeping until Deb and her Mom get home from work around 8-8:30am M-F.
Today also happens to be my Mom's Birthday! Happy Birthday Mom!! i called her at about 7amCST to wish her a great day and was a bit sad to find her cell phone turned off, but she called about 15 minutes later - after turning on her phone and getting my birthday song message. Heehee!!
Had a job interview yesterday at a local home heating oil company for a customer service position...not sure how it went, the lady was hard to read. I'll just keep pressing on. I'm determined to find a doggon job where they will hire a fat girl! Sheesh!!
I have several more dishcloths to knit up and something for Deb so i'd best be off for now, have to go set the alarm!!
Merry Solstice to everyone!!

Hmm, ok i was trying to add more photos here but Flickr isn't working so well on this dial-up today. I was able to upload some photos there before it got all screwy and i've got to quit fiddling with it and go knit!!

You are The Moon
Hope, expectation, Bright promises.
The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.
The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.
What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.
Dear Fat & Flabby
I'm here, really i am!! Just been busy and am not connecting very often since we're using the house phone line to do so here. Dial-up...it's a pain, what can i say?!
But for your delight, here's a photo orgy just for you!!
October Photos:

Project Runway
But in more serious matters...i finished my socks but they are too big once worn for 5 minutes. I've washed them once in the bathroom sink and tried some hot water hoping for a bit of shrinkage, and got NONE. I'm so afraid to accidentally shrink them too much and then i'll be all sad. I'm goingt o try once more to shrink them a bit in the sink and it that doesn't work, i'm seriously thinking about frogging them and reknitting them smaller...GASP!!!
In other knitting news...i've made a lovely, simple, no pattern scarf for the "Mitten Basket" at church. It's made with Wool-Ease in "frost" that was accidentally bought by my Aunt & Cousin for my cousin's Queen Sized bed blanket that i crocheted for a year before taking up knitting...the blanket was in "white" and they accidentally bought two skeins of "frost" too. So i'm using the "frost" mixed with this really pale pink yarn that Kat sent to me...all of the Kat yarn was earmarked for lap blankets for a yearly project in Indiana but now it's all destined for hats, scarves & mittens for the "Mitten Basket" at church here...so still going to charity, Thanks Kat!! ;) Anywhoooo, the scarf is just a simple K2 P2 on size 15 needles and it's turned out so pretty. I then made one of those silly box shaped hats with the tassels on the corners to go with it, but it was even too big for my fat head so i frogged it this morning and will reknit it in a while. Mine's not the same as the picture, it's got a K2 P2 ribbing and then St st so that it matches the scarf. And now i'm off to find a better mitten pattern so it can have mittens too...
I also have another simple hat on 16" circs...hell if i remember where i got the pattern...i'll try to find it later for ya.
Pics are on hold because i grabbed the wrong USB cable out of the box before the rest went back to storage...i grabbed the printer cable and not the one for the camera, like a dope!! DOH!! I'll go fish for it in storage after church tomorrow!!
Happy knitting!

Sock!!
I'll be dumping tons of pics soon so be prepared!! We cleaned more crap out of our room and it's all clean now. We rearranged the desk and went to storage yesterday and brought our computer home. Deb spent about an hour last night trying to rerun the cut phone line to this room, but we eventually were online last night and i only took the time to check email and that was about it.
I'll be around much more often now, i promise!!
Sock on!!
