Dear Classmates~
20 years has gone by. How time flies. Sorry to have missed the reunion this time, i guess i was hard to find, which seems odd considering that my last name is very rare and one phone book search would have resulted in my Dad's phone number on Burr Street. Negrelli, shame on you, you know he's there and would give you my number!! You too Sue (Z.) Hamnik...we only used to party there, sheesh. Ok, no, i'm not bitter. LOL!!
After emailing with Christine McCants, I woke up this morning feeling the need to google around to see if there had been anything written about the reunion or photos posted and i happily stumbled across Bonnie's photo site. It was fun seeing pictures of Chris McCants, Cheri Tanner, Gary Devalk, Negrelli, Kelly Ashcraft, Sandi Smith, Linda Paulson, Jarvis!! (miss you tons!!), Dave (Mr. Denver Broncos...i can't remember your last name, how awful is that??), Howard!! (miss you tons too!!)...and so many others i recognized and many i did not. Really takes a person back. Wow. Some crazy memories.
Anyway, hope everyone had a great time. Try harder to "find" me next time, will ya?? I hope life's treating you all well, be happy.

Bummed Out
Didn't get that job i'd interviewed for last week. And i'd thought that the interview went so well too. I'm really beginning to feel firm in my belief that people are not hiring me due to my weight. It's very sad and feels really crappy. I really feel like i'm letting Deb down and sometimes i just really wonder why she is still with me. I adore her so, she's so patient....most of the time. ;)
Deb tested last week for a county job. A math test. She was done with it in 10 minutes. And scored perfectly on it. It's for the Weighmasters job at the County Dump. And to think she used to hate coming home smelling like pizza when she worked at Pizza Hut a few years ago...hmmm. She has another test this week for a Correctional Officer's job, i forget if that's County or State work. Well, she sure is trying lots of different areas, that's for sure! Send some good Mojo her way...light a candle, hug a tree, say a prayer...we'll accept any positive energy you wish to send. Thanks!!
Knitting a third scrap scarf. I know, i'm so lame!! I'll have to post a pic of the second one, i made it a wee bit too long, if there is such a thing for a scarf? If not wound around my neck, it reaches my feet. Ok, so maybe 300 cast on was a bit much, so shoot me!! LOL!! The third one is another one in browns/tans/whites...for Deb this time and without the white yarn with the sparkles in it, sheesh!!
I should get back to my Cobwebs shawl and the lonely sock on the dpn's...one of these days!
Happy Knitting!!!

Gasp! It's knitting stuff!!
Ok, before i get to the knitting content...i felt that the interview went well last week, but i won't know anything until the middle of this week, so hush it! ;) Kele, i used you as a reference, so if you get a call from a woman named Jessica, try not to trash me too much. K? Thanks!
Project Runway...of course i've been watching it! As well as watching Treasure Hunters, Road Rules/Real World Challenge, Big Brother 7 - All Stars, Work Out...and anything else i flip the channel to.
Project Runway has left me bored so that's probably why i've not posted anything. These people are supposed to be the best yet, but they've bored me into a writer's block! I can't bitch about Heidi's boring wardrobe again...ya know, i don't want to bore MY readers, so i'm not touching that topic yet again this season. I'm glad that pretentious dude is gone, i'm glad the idiot who had the design books is gone...i was sad to see a couple of the girls go, i was hoping to have a longer amount of time to see what they could really do instead of keeping those two nut job guys around...what was that guy thinking when he designed his "Cher" outfit?!!! Had he never seen her in a Bob Mackee?? He can't be that into fashion if he doesn't know about Cher's fashion wild side!
Ok, so on to the knitting. These are pics of the things i've been doing over the past couple of weeks.
The Funky dishcloths with all of my kitchen cotton scraps. These will go into our camping gear.

Here's the first scrap scarf. Kat, you should recognize some of the colors in the close-up, heehee, thanks!! ;) I still need to trim the fringe to make it even.

And here's a current pic of my Cobwebs Shawl. It's not as airy looking as the one Emma Crew has with the pattern. I'm not using a laceweight yarn, so mine is thicker.

Here's a close-up of the pattern...

Ok, i'm off to waste time playing the Sims now.
Happy Knitting!!

I got a call!!
Wait. Let me pick myself up off of the floor. It will be a while. Go get a drink or rotate the laundry or something.
Ok, so i have a job interview at 9:30amEST tomorrow (Wednesday). Hurry. Light some candles and say something for me...a spell, a wish, a prayer...whatever your thing is. I will be interviewing with Jessica at Airpark Animal Clinic (where we take the furdren) for a receptionists position at a new - to be opened in September - Emergency Animal Hospital. Sure, it means night hours, but who cares, it's a job with potential knitting time. Wink, wink. I'm very excited about the opportunity to be seen for the interview. Off the dozen or so resumes and applications i've done in the past two weeks, this is the one i'm most excited about...
Dinner is ready, i've been summond.

Scrappy Knitting
Hi Ho!
Nothing too exciting going on here. Deb and i have both been submitting applications and resumes, we've not even received any calls for interviews yet, it really sux!
In knitting news, i'm actually working on cleaning up all of my leftover scrap stash. I've made three random colored, cotton dishcloths and cast on today for a scarf that is being made up of - i don't know how many colors of leftover yarn! I'm knitting it in vertical stripes, so it will be interesting to see how it turns out and if it will be long enough, i hope so. I've cast on about 200 stitches on size 10 1/2 needles (and i rarely check gague, unless i'm knitting something lace or for a baby). Nothing fancy, just garter stitch leaving about a 6 inch tail at each end, it's gonna have fringe. It should be fun and funky.
Eventually i need to return to finish my Cobwebs Shawl and the green stripped socks that had been frogged...one of these days!!
Happy knitting, Everyone.

Bad Blogger
Yes, i know, i'm lame.
I've been in a bit of a blogging slump. Upon returning from Indiana, Deb was fired from her fabulous Random House job due to her two medical leaves and two small mishaps with the drivable forklift thingy. Sigh. We lost our medical insurance. We have no money. We have no gas for our van. We're totally being supported by Deb's parents. It feels like utter crap. We've both been going through very low depressing times. I mean, REALLY low. Wish we were dead, low. It's been bad. The household drama has not helped any either...but, i guess there's going to be drama with 7 people living here. We keep trying to encourage each other and luckily most times only one of us is really down and the other one can be uplifting. We keep reminding ourselves to take it one day at a time and that our purpose here on earth, as far as we can tell, is to love one another and live a life together.
I've currently got 3 resumes ready to mail out and i've applied for a total of 6 county jobs, 5 of them within the school system. I hope to at least get called in for a freakin' interview. Deb has several applications out and has interviewed at Jiffy Lube, where she worked right before we moved to Indiana 6 years ago.
All last week it really was too hot to knit on my shawl or on the current sock, both items made with wool. I started and finished one cotton dish cloth and have part of another one done. I'm just using odds-n-ends that i have leftover from other projects and the resulting funky dishcloths will go into our camping gear. The past two days, i've just been so blah and lazy that i've actually not even felt like knitting and i've slept a lot. Usually when i sleep a lot, it means my Synthroid needs to be upped.
Still no batteries for the digi-cam, so no pics. Sorry.
Happy knitting everyone!
