Greg, Dude...i seriously think your wife is "smokin' the crack pipe". I mean, i don't mean to alarm you or anything, but that's totally NOT a good thing for a paramedic to be doing! She really needs to go back to her Hooking and leave the Reality TV Show updates to the REAL addicts!!
Dude, do you realize that last week, your wife wrote this extremely alarmist post claiming that she missed taping the newest episode of Project Runway for YOU because Bravo decided to air it an hour earlier...yadda, yadda. She used all sorts of foul language, spewing it all over the internet and beyond and suckered three of us, her unsuspecting readers into believing that what she was telling us was the truth...Well, i sure hope you didn't buy that crap?!!!
Apparently the REAL truth is that Project Runway took a week off, i mean c'mon, they deserved it - didn't they?? They've been pretty busy over there and poor Laura being pregnant and everything, the woman seriously needed to put her feet up for a week, am i right?!!
So, last night i tune in, thinking i'm a week behind somehow...ya know, cuz that's what YOUR wife said...and low and behold if the episode that aired right before this week's "new" episode, isn't the last one i actually saw!!! Meaning. I didn't miss a damned thing!
GAH!
Dude, tell your wife to step away from "the crack pipe"!
Love you both anyway!!

One down!

Ok, so here's the first pair of socks completed during "Socktober Fest". WooHoo!!
Now, before i actually post pictures of said socks, i want my Dear Readers to know - that i know - that you know - that i know how you LOVE pics being posted of finished items and such. With that being said, i'm going to let you in on some sad, sad news...the digi cam is quite ill...
A few months ago i noticed that the camera had dead batteries only shortly after having replaced the batteries and i noticed the shutter was left opened, after the wife had used the camera. Grumble. I commented and asked her to please make sure she closed shutter after use so that the batteries would not drain. She said she would do so. It happened again. And again. And each time i blamed her and she was starting to get pissed (i would have too!) because she knew that she had made a point of making sure the shutter was closed. Well, last week we bought a new pair of lithium batteries, i had Deb install them in case, maybe the problem was ME putting the batteries in the wrong way?? We didn't know. Deb put the batteries in, i took a few pics, dumped them onto the PC, unhooked the camera, made sure the shutter was closed and there the camera sat, totally untouched, for days. When next i picked the sucker up to use it...you guessed it, dead batteries. WTF?!!!!!!! So, apparently something is quite wrong with our camera, and of course it is 2 months out of warranty. Sigh.
So, because i love you all (ok, the 5 of you...) so much, i briefly stole the batteries out of the opti mouse and put them into the camera, took some pics of these socks...and then realized, "oh shit, i need batteries in the opti mouse to dump the pics off and onto the PC"...so i stole some other batteries from some other device, ahem...you don't need to know! And once the whole process was over, i returned the lithium batteries to the opti mouse and the questionable batteries back to whence they came and so here, without further ado...
Sock Pics

The pic is a bit blurry, but can ya see what the doggon yarn did to me?? Huh? Do you see it?!!

First sock, pooled...with the gold, purple and navy together and the brown, lighter blue and olive together. And then...

Second sock, freakin' striped on me. WTF?!!
Ok, so i'm off to make dinner and then i'll be working on my Cobweb shawl before i cast on for any more socks, but i am leaving you with a question to ponder, about socks...
My wife, Goddess bless her, does not want any more wildly colored socks, she wants only solid colored socks. Ok, no problem...well, slight problem. I don't have any solid colored sock yarn. And i'm not allowed to buy any yarn, ya know...cuz i'm unemployed and Deb's just starting to work full time hours this week. Buuuuuut, i have solid colored acrylic yarn...don't i Kat? Yup. Cuz Kat sent it to me, like last year some time and i was gonna use it in a lap blanket, but then i got fired, and we moved, and yadda-yadda...so i still have it...
Ok, so the thought to ponder...would it be a crime to make the wife brown ACRYLIC socks?? She doesn't mind, but as a knitter, should i do it?
Mind you, if i do it, i'm contemplating my first cables so that i'm not bored.
Whatcha Say??

It is Artyarns Superwash Merino, colorway 101, that i won from Michelle, formerly of "Plush Knits" when she ran a contest on her late blog. (Miss you Michelle!!!)

Up With the Birds
Shhhh! Please read this post very quietly, Deb is still snoring loudly to my left. Heehee!!
Yeah, i'm up almost every day between 5:30-6:30am. If you know me, you may be asking yourself, "why?"...because, ya know, i'm unemployed and have nowhere to be. Well, i think it's old age? ROFL! Or maybe because someone sleeping next to me is snoring very loudly? Or maybe because i can only sleep in a certain spot for a certain length of time and then i must readjust from my back to my left side? Or maybe it's because i get up to pee anywhere from 2-6 times during a night depending on when i had my last bit of caffeinated anything! If i've had anything with caffeine after 6pm...fuhgedaboudit! I'm up all night peeing.
I know, i know...Dear Reader, do you really want to read about this? Well, it's about all i have to write about right now. Sooooo, i either annoy you with meaningless day to day crap OR you get NO POST. You'd rather have the crap and laugh at me, right? I thought so!
Ok, so yesterday we were up at 5:30am....on purpose, with the alarm. Deb had a really important interview. So, i got up and put the coffee on and then offered to make us some egg "McMuffin" sandwiches while she took her shower. Aren't i sweet?? Well, i figure that any job interview that Deb goes to is important to US not just to her, so i have to do my part to help her out! In an effort to help herself in landing a better job than slinging/delivering pizza, Deb's Mom helped Deb buy a nice ladies suit from Fashion Bug Plus...it's a very Deb-like, light-weight, brown, 3-piece suit....yes, it has a skirt!!!...we'll never see her in it, i'm sure!...Oh, and it has cream colored pinstripes. It's very sharp. However. The pants zip up the back. Does Fashion Bug Plus have any idea how hard it is for SOME plus sized women to reach around to the bottom of their arse to grab a zipper??? Not to mention trying to hold the pants together so that the zipper will glide up more smoothly????? Clearly the designer of these pants was some skinny, cloudy thinker!!
Now, not only did Deb get this suit, but she went and got her hair cut...into a bit more feminine of a style...still short though. And she dried her hair and used a curling iron on it. I was not privy to this scene as she closed the bathroom door and did not ask for any help from me. I was also shocked and slightly sickened when i learned that she had applied some makeup as well. Not because she was wearing makeup...that doesn't bother me. But because she had used makeup that had been in her mother's bathroom for Goddess knows how many years?!!! And we all know that you should replace your makeup every so often and you really shouldn't share things like eye liner, mascara, etc. So i was just......well, ewwww!!!
Ok, who drank my coffee while i was typing?? Dammit. BRB!!
Ya know, it's a times like these when i really miss my giant, James Taylor, cappuccino mug acquired at Tanglewood, July 4th 1999...but i digress.
Back to Deb and the interview set-up. Ok, she also purchased a sharp looking "day-planner" type item that has pullout handles to make it look like a briefcase. The night before her interview i asked her interviewer type questions from a list she'd gotten from the two-day workshop that Unemployment made her go to last week. So, basically, she was very prepared. All of this to interview for a potato-chip route driver's position. Sheesh! Of course we have no idea if she will be hired, but the interview did go for over an hour and the interviewer commented on how well prepared she was...so, let's hope for the best. Way to go Deb, i think you did a great job!!!
Before i got rambling i was actually going to download some pictures of Westminster, MD (that's where we live) and i was going to post them, but now this post is too long already so i'll save them for another day when i really have nothing to say.
I'll be working on a sock in a while.

Seasons change
This past weekend Deb's Mom picked up extra hours at work which left Deb taking over the weekend care of her special needs nephew, Chris. We took him to breakfast on Saturday and then we went for a nice long drive, he did such a nice job for us...very well behaved, and Deb had even managed to misplace his meds so we were worried, but he did very well.
Deb seems to think it's going to be an early Autumn and a hard Winter. The leaves are starting to turn and with some of the rain storms we've had recently, they're already making small piles on the ground. Farmers have the dried corn stalks gathered into shocks ready to be cut for Autumnal decorations. The Soy Bean fields are dotted with blotches of orange among their fresh green...some have even turned to Deb's favorite shade of "brown" already.
It's very hilly here, so one corn field may be all dried up and then you can go over a hill and the next one is still all green. One Soy Bean field can be as described above, but the one directly across the road from it is still all green. Maybe it rained on one side of the road and not the other or maybe one field was simply planted a bit later?
The tomato plants in our own backyard are heavy with huge fruit, too many for us to eat...and my face is showing that i've eaten too many yummy, acidic, tomato sandwiches. The grape vines are wild and filled to the max, i can't wait until those are harvested.
Deb started delivering pizza on Monday, for a local place that opened a new location near us. She passed her physical today for a school bus company, but changed her classroom dates with them due to an interview for another job next Tuesday. Ever hear of "UTZ"? It's a potato chip/snack company in Hanover, PA...much like "Jay's" in the Chicagoland area. She'll be interviewing for a Sales Route Driver position. So, driving a B truck and supplying convenience stores, etc.
Me? Not so much? I'm just knitting. Revisiting the green stripped socks from June...the ones i had to frog because they were too large for me. I'm on the toe decreases of sock number one. That should be done tomorrow and sock number two cast on.
Hope all are well.
