Is anyone still out there? I'm here, really i am. I dunno what my deal is lately. I've really been laying low and feeling blah. Our finances have been crap and we've not been going anywhere or doing much of anything. I have no fun pictures to share and really not anything too exciting to say. Let's just say i'm in a bit of a slump.
I could complain endlessly about our financial crap, but really...who wants to read that? We all have troubles, right?! I could moan and groan about how i got royally screwed over on SP 10, but i'm trying really hard not to because apparently most people have a wonderful experience. I had half of a good experience sending stuff to my Pal and i really hope she liked everything...she seemed to. On the other end, well...let's just say, "Nada"...and leave it at that. Well, nada until a little Angel sent me something fun and yummy. Another huge thanks to that Angel!! You know who you are and i appreciate you a ton! ;) I stare at the yarn all the time and it's motivated me to get some other projects finished so that i can cast on.
Ok, so knitting news then, eh? I have finished the pair of Soldier Leisure socks made from this yarn...I'll have to get a new pic for ya. I have managed to advance past the 16.5 inches of St St on Deb's vest and have cast off the arm hole stitches so that i now have a front and a back section. The back section is knit first and i moved it from circular needles to straight needles (i knit faster on straights)...and i am about 6 inches along in the 11 inches needed for the back. So, it's moving along and i'll take a new pic this weekend at Knitting Group. The Big Black Soldier sock was frogged and recast because it seemed too tight to me, so i went up to the next cast on amount and am much happier with it...i can't be cutting off circulation for some dear soldier friend, sheesh!
Let me share with you a few more pictures from the campout in July...these are some of my faves!

Greg and Kele packing up their tent...uh huh, that's what they are doing, i swear! And i about missed getting pics and i was getting my camera out and i said something about missing the shot and so Greg nicely obliged by squishy Kele again and she started muttering things about killing me...so, that was fun!

The most important part of camp, the coffee making station. Yes, that is a "Mr. Coffee" that sets up on a camp stove...can you believe that? Our coffee pot it behind it, it's a gorgeous pot that we normally use over the campfire, but since we were in charge of coffee we just used the stove this time.
Deb, playing with the campfire on the last night.

And Kate dancing by the firelight...

And i will leave you with this one, it sort of sums up the whole weekend. This shot is taken as people were walking into Closing Ritual...

...as people enter the circle they cleanse their hands in the bowl of water that is on the little tables (behind in the photo). Karen and Catherine entering the circle...Catherine was last year's baby of the group. Vickie, with child, entering the circle...she will have one of two new babies next year...another friend is due this Autumn, as well. And a new friend, John, entering the circle. New friends and old friends, friendships strengthened and friendships made. The web is woven and continues to bind us as we each take a piece of it home with us. Blessed Be.
Happy Weekend everyone.

Oh, you have PVS: Post Vacation Syndrome. It happens to everyone who goes away and has a wonderful time. It's very common. I've even been know to get it BEFORE going away.
That sucks about your SP. I think people ought to name names publicly, so this dirtbag doesn't screw the next person over. It's a shame, but some people really suck. Name names, let it be known who this shitbag is. (Yes, I'm pissed for you at this lowlife.)
Hooboy, SP10 woes. Just so you know, if people bail on their SP they are barred from future exchanges...
I agree with Dave. There needs to be a master list somewhere with all the name of people who got their goodies but screwed their swap giftie. If you can't play by the rules, you should not play at all.
And don't get me started on people who lie about mailing stuff and/or the ones who can't be bothered to say thank you.
Yeah, I hate people.
So? :p
I hope you start to feel more like yourself. I think there's something about this month that gets to people.
You know, you DO suck, not posting in 12 days, good golly you think I'd do something like that? Never!
Pffst, are you laughing yet? I love the photos of the camping trip and your sentiment at the end. beautiful.
Putting the tent away? Yeah, sure.
BTW, I really needed to read your comment about No Child Left Behind. I get a bit depressed when I see nice kids with lots of potential feel bad about themselves because of a ridiculous test.
All of your pictures have been making me wicked nostalgic for the "Celebration of Community" campouts that the Pagan community around D.C. put together every year... I miss that like crazy. I always came away from it feeling so... recharged, and connected, you know? Sigh.
Anyway, I'm glad you were able to go. :)
I agree with everyone else - your SP should be outed as a thieving dirtbag. At the very least, I hope you've told whoever oversees the SP exchanges about this person, because (s)he doesn't deserve to sneak into any future swaps. Grrr, people piss me the hell off.
Yeah, I am not into really posting either. Or anything else. No one ever seems to be into it either judging by the blog activity.
Your sp definitely sucked. Is that ALL you flipping got was that one yarn????
I am like Cookie. The more I am around people - the more I dislike them.
Sorry, about the $ thing, I live that everyday so I know it is a debbie downer.
That looks like a wonderful trip! No matter how wonderful, though, can't forget the coffee.
May your SP person have a plague of moth's visited upon them! A-hole.
"Packing up the tent"? Is that what they are calling it these days? I thought it was called.........oh never mind.
Could be and end of the summer slump, I'm there every year about this time reviewing my "coulda shoulda woulda" list.
